<<< Welcome to Angklung Web Institute (AWI)! This website is a medium of information exchange about angklung knowledge and competence, especially diatonic angklung in orchestral composition. The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. MUSIC ANGKLUNG PLAYED BY SD PASKALIS STUDENT (Jakarta Centre, April, 10 2009)

SD Paskalis Jakarta Pusat play the tradional music Indonesia call Angklung, SD Paskalis try to resisted Indonesian tradional music, was claimed by other country.

Actually people has forget this music angklung which last 15 years very rarely to us to hear music angklung taught and play by communities or student in Indonesia, last time when I was in primary school which was 20 years ago I still have taugh by teacher in my school which we still music angklung as sub subject of Art & Music study was. But we almost lost this part of original music Indonesia because other country has claimed that music angklung is include their cultural.

The happened was in 1970 a lot of Indonesian cross the border to others country for works and teach in neighbourd contry, takes many years after that those people those country who taught by Indonesian has study & consistantly grow it as their hobby or as their income to play music angklung until now. So I very appreciated and proud if our government still have attention and resisted of our cultural and tradional music atleast to get the schools or community and encourage them for this music angklung activities and others our tradional art dont let them fade and gone stolen by others country because of we dont care anymore with our Indonesian cultural and art heritage.
