The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. SINERGI antara aransemen angklung yang dimainkan Arumba Angklung Udjo, gesekan biola yang dibawakan Eya Grimonia, dan tuts organ yang dimainkan jemari Dwiki Dharmawan dalam pentas di Saung Udjo memukau penonton.

Ketiga alat musik yang berbeda zaman dan suara itu mampu menghasilkan suara yang menarik. Itulah suguhan pada acara bertajuk "Nyorang ka Tukang Pibekeleun ka Hareup" di Saung Angklung Udjo, Sabtu (21/3) malam.

Padahal, menurut Dwiki, kolaborasi itu dilakukan tanpa latihan bersama sebelumnya, baik dengan Arumba maupun dengan Eva.

"Benar-benar luar biasa, padahal saya hanya mengirimkan komposisinya melalui e-mail dan dalam format MP3," ujar Dwiki setelah usai membawakan lagu pertama yang berjudul The Spirit of Peace.

Ia juga sempat mengajak "duel" dua pemain Arumba Angklung Udjo, Wildan dan Ipung, untuk berkolaborasi langsung antara organ dan angklung. Setelah selesai berduel dengan pemain angklung, Dwiki pun secara spontan mengajak Eya untuk berduet membawakan tembang Ekspresi dengan ritme slow.

Eya, yang masih berusia 13 tahun, juga piawai meladeni tantangan Dwiki.

Penonton yang duduk memenuhi tribun pendopo hanya termangu, terhanyut dalam ritmis alunan kolaborasi yang jarang terjadi ini. Aplaus panjang dan wajah puas tecermin dari wajah mereka setiap pertunjukkan usai. Tak jarang siulan pun bermunculan.

Dwiki mengaku gembira atas keberadaan angklung yang masih eksis hingga kini, terutama di kota-kota besar.

"Kantung-kantung kebudayaan seperti ini sangat penting sekali, khususnya di kota-kota besar seperti Bandung," katanya  sebelum memamerkan kebolehannya. Ia berharap semoga Saung Udjo dapat berkembang dan lebih kreatif.

Sebelum Dwiki, Arumba, dan Eya bersinergi, acara yang baru dimulai sekitar pukul 19.30 itu, penonton disuguhi permainan angklung yang dimainkan cucu dan kerabat Udjo. Tidak hanya itu, di pintu kedatangan, pengunjung sudah dimanjakan dengan diberi syal kuning dan menikmati beberapa masakan yang dihidangkan, seperti nasi goreng, sate ayam, dan serabi.

Pertunjukan angklung itu sebenarnya akan dilakukan di luar, tetapi karena hujan sejak sore, akhirnya dipindahkan di pendopo yang terdapat di tengah Saung Udjo. Enam tingkat tribun dipenuhi tamu undangan, dengan lampu sorot dan sound system yang cukup menunjang perhelatan musik itu.

Wali Kota Bandung Dada Rosada dan Kepala Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Jabar Herdiwan turut hadir malam itu. Dalam sambutannya, Dada mengatakan, sangat mengapresiasi angklung karena dapat memperkokoh Kota Bandung sebagai kota kesenian.

Pertunjukan tersebut merupakan puncak acara dalam mengenang hari lahirnya Udjo, pendiri Saung Udjo, pada 5 Maret lalu. Udjo adalah seorang seniman yang memperkenalkan angklung tidak hanya sebagai permainan kecil, tetapi sudah dimainkan di seluruh dunia. Angklung sendiri mulai dikenal dunia saat mengisi pembukaan Konferensi Asia Afrika pada 19 April 1955 di Bandung.

Mulai saat itu, presiden pertama Indonesia, Sukarno, bangga dan menjadikan pertunjukan angklung sebagai suguhan wajib bagi tamu dari negara lain. Udjo sendiri mulai aktif bermain angklung pada 1960 di Hotel Homann untuk menghibur tamu asing. Ia ingin angklung menjadi kebudayaan di masyarakat sehingga menjadi daya tarik pariwisata.

Selain mengajarkan angklung kepada anak dan kerabatnya, Udjo juga memperkenalkannya kepada tetangga-tetanggannya. Pertunjukan itu ditutup dengan permainan angklung yang dimainkan karyawan Saung Udjo. (zz)
