The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. ImageBANDUNG--MI: Optimalisasi peran angklung sebagai media pendidikan untuk membentuk karakter bangsa yang berbudaya menjadi perhatian utama Saung Angklung Udjo (SAU).

Sam Udjo mangatakan, apresiasi angklung di dunia pendidikan Indonesia baru sebatas program ekstrakurikuler, sedangkan di sekolah-sekolah asing sudah mengembangkannya menjadi salah satu kurikulum kesenian.

"SK dari Depateman Pendidikan sudah ada soal angklung dalam pendidikan di Indonesia, namun yang terjadi sekarang malah sekolah-sekolah asing yang mengembangkan angklung," kata Sam Ujdo saat dalam seminar Pendidikan dan Bisnis Angklung di kawasan wisata budaya SAU Bandung, Jumat (20/3).

Ia menambahkan, dengan bermain angklung bisa mengasah otak manusia sehingga menyeimbangkan fungsi otak kiri dan kanan. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan angklung lebih menekankan pada anak-anak prasekolah dan sekolah dasar karena pada usia ini otak manusia dalam masa perkembangan atau golden age.

"Apabila anak bisa memainkan satu not saja dengan benar, maka kemampuan seninya akan meningkat," kata Sam.

Senada dengan Sam Udjo, Biakman Irbansyah, staff pengajar Program Magister Universitas Indonesia mengatakan, tujuan strategis dari pendidikan seni dan budaya adalah untuk meningkatkan daya saing sumber daya manusia Indonesia agar mampu bersaing dengan bangsa lain.

"Pendidikan seni harus menjadi stimulus dan akselilator pelajaran untuk meningkatkan daya saing bangsa Indonesia di dunia," tegas Biakman.

Selain itu, Biakman berpendapat bahwa seniman di Indonesia masih takut mengomersialkan kebudayaannya ditambah kurangnya peran aktif pemerintah untuk mengapresiasi seni sehingga kesenian di Indonesia tidak berkembang.

"Kita akan kebakaran jenggot jika pihak asing sudah mengklaim kesenian kita," katanya.

Seni dan budaya dapat menstimulus perekonomian dan geliat ekonomi Indonesia dapat di tingkatkan, katanya menambahkan. (Ant/OL-03)
