The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. LONDON, SELASA-Lagu balada Italia O Sole Mio karangan komponis E. Di Capua dengan indahnya dimainkan oleh kelompok musik Angklung Indonesia Le Sangkuriang dalam Festival Musik "Fete de la Musique" yang digelar di Geneva.

"Penampilan Le Sangkuriang pada Fete de la Musique merupakan kiprah perdana kelompok yang dibentuk Kuasa Usaha Ad Interim/Dubes RI di Jenewa, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja," kata Sekretaris PTRI Jenewa Yasmi Adriansyah kepada ANTARA London, Selasa (24/6).

Ratusan penonton terlihat menikmati penampilan Le Sangkuriang bahkan secara interaktif diantaranya ikut memainkan alat musik asal Jawa Barat itu, membuat angklung Indonesia bergema di Geneva.

Menurut Yasmi Adriansyah, penampilan di Fete de la Musique itu merupakan bagian dari program kegiatan PTRI Geneva dalam rangka menyukseskan program pemerintah Visit Indonesia Year. Dikatakannya Le Sangkuriang menurut rencana juga akan tampil pada ulang tahun ke-60 Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) yang bermarkas di Geneva November mendatang.

Selain lagu O Sole Mio, Le Sangkuriang yang dibentuk guna meningkatkan pemahaman komunitas internasional atas budaya Indonesia itu juga menampilkan lagu Pepito, Song of Doremi, Edelweiss dan lagu daerah seperti Rasa Sayange dari Maluku, Manuk Dadali dan Es Lilin dari Jawa Barat.

Le Sangkuriang yang terdiri atas kelompok anak-anak dan dewasa yang memainkan lagu tradisional Indonesia dan mancanegara itu membawakan alunan musik sesuai dengan jiwa lagu, baik yang mengalun lembut maupun ritmis menghentak membawa penonton ikut terlibat secara aktif.

Para pemain Le Sangkuriang terdiri dari sekitar 40 orang Indonesia di Geneva. Untuk penampilan pada Fete de la Musique ini, mereka dilatih secara intensif oleh Sam Udjo, seniman angklung dari Saung Angklung Udjo, Jawa Barat. Bertindak sebagai konduktor Le Sangkuriang dilakukan secara bergantian oleh staf PTRI Geneva.

Fete de la Musique adalah festival musik tahunan yang diikuti berbagai kelompok dengan jenis musik yang beragam tampil di berbagai tempat strategis di kota Geneva. "Setiap kali diadakan, festival musik ini selalu menyedot perhatian ribuan penonton dan menjadi atraksi tersendiri bagi wisatawan domestik maupun internasional," kata Yasmi Adriansyah.(ANT)
