<<< Welcome to Angklung Web Institute (AWI)! This website is a medium of information exchange about angklung knowledge and competence, especially diatonic angklung in orchestral composition. The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. BANDUNG – Dalam rangka memperingati HUT ke-53, Universitas Padjajaran memecahkan rekor Muri (meseum rekor Indonesia) atas prestasi memainkan angklung 10.000 orang yang akan dilangsungkan hari ini, Senin (27/8/2007).

Menurut panitia, Yesi 10 ribu orang ini terdiri dari mahasiswa dan civitas akademika Unpad.

“Pemecahan rekor muri ini merupakan salah satu acara ulangtahun Universitas Padjajaran yang kelima puluh bertema “Bagimu Negeri”. Sebelumnya, kampus juga telah mendatangkan peraih nobel dari Bangladesh, M Yunus,” kata Yesi kepada wartawan, Minggu 26 Agustus.

Acara ini digelar pukul 09.30 WIB di halaman Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur, Bandung. Acara ini akan dihadiri Ketua Umum Muri Jaya Suprana, artis Dwiki Darmawan, Andien, Miss Indonesia 2007 Kamadia Radisti (mahasiswi fakultas ekonomi Unpad), dan dua mahasiswa baru Unpad yang merupakan jebolan Indonesian Idol, Dhea dan Brinet.

Selain itu, kata Yesi, juga Unpad mengadakan lomba karya tulis yang bertemakan “Unpad, Angklung dan Masa Depan Indonesia”, lomba ini memperebutkan hadiah Rp5 juta. (uky)
