The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. ImageBANDUNG -- Saung Angklung Udjo (SAU) dan sejumlah pagelaran musik serta pentas budaya lainnya dari Indonesia batal manggung di hadapan peserta Sidang Umum (SU) Unesco. Pembatalan ini disampaikan Unesco dalam suratnya ke Indonesia sesaat setelah Presiden RI, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, memutuskan untuk tidak menghadiri SU Unesco.
 
Akibat pembatalan tersebut, SAU mengalami kerugian material dan inmaterial. ''Kerugian terbesar adalah momentum untuk memperlihatkan kepada dunia kalau angklung milik Indonesia,'' ujar Direktur Utama Saung Angklung Udjo, Taufik Hidayat, kepada Republika, di Bandung, Ahad (30/9).

Rencananya, kata Taufiq, SAU akan main di hadapan sekitar 140 negara peserta SU Unesco pada Oktober 2007. Sedangkan surat pembatalan itu diterimanya sekitar lima hari yang lalu.

Dikatakan Taufik, gagasan untuk main di hadapan SU Unesco merupakan gagasan SAU. Sekitar lima bulan yang lalu, ia mengajukan permohonan kepada Departemen Budaya dan Pariwisata untuk bisa bermain di hadapan dunia. Selama ini, Malaysia gencar sekali mengkampanyekan angklung sebagai kesenian nasionalnya.

Tadinya, lanjut Taufiq, dengan pagelaran taraf dunia, ia berharap bisa menjadi bukti yang bisa dipertanggungjawabkan dengan kualitas bahwa angklung milik Indonesia.

Lalu angin segar datang saat SAU diberi kesempatan untuk bermain. Namun batalnya Presiden ke SU Unesco, juga dianggap batalnya semua pertunjukkan, yakni angklung dan sejumlah kesenian tari yang terdaftar di Depbudpar. ''Unesco menilai semua pertunjukan itu satu paket, jadi batalnya Presiden dianggap batalnya juga kita tampil,'' cetus dia.

Dikatakan Taufik, SAU berharap tetap bisa main di SU Unesco meskipun Presiden tidak datang. Namun surat itu menyiratkan tidak ada harapan untuk main. Walaupun diakuinya pagelaran seni tersebut terpisah dengan rencana kedatangan ataupun batalnya Presiden menghadiri SU Unesco.

Taufik mengaku kecewa dengan pembatalan itu. Terlebih persiapan yang dilakukan sudah berjalan 1,5 bulan dan mencapai 90 persen. Selain itu, pihaknya sudah membuat 1.500 angklung. Kerugian material, sambung dia, tak begitu berpengaruh. Namun kegagalan membawa nama angklung ke mata dunia dan dampak psikologis menjadi kerugian terbesar.

Saat pembatalan tersebut, Taufik mengaku sempat kesal dengan Presiden. Namun ia mengaku tidak akan berputus asa. Ia tetap akan berupaya menyelamatkan angklung. ''Kami akan terus berupaya menyelamatkan angklung,'' imbuh dia.

Tanggapan keras juga muncul dari pecinta dan penggiat angklung. Mereka menganggap Presiden tidak peduli kepada musik tradisional angklung. ''Seniman harus bergerak sendiri karena ternyata Presiden tidak peduli,'' kata pecinta angklung, Asep.
