The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. PEGELARAN ANGKLUNG SMUN 3 BANDUNG DI LEIMEN, JERMAN (Konsulat Jerman, 7 Agustus 2002) Print E-mail

Pada hari Rabu, 7 Agustus 2002, di Festhalle des Heidelberger Zementwerks, Leimen, telah diselenggarakan Pagelaran Angklung Keluarga Paduan Angklung (KPA) SMUN 3 Bandung. Acara tersebut diselenggarakan oleh Deutsch-Indonesischer Verein des ASEAN Instituts e.V, yang dipimpin oleh Sdr. Willy R. Wirantaprawira, bekerjasama dengan KBRI Berlin dan didukung oleh KJRI Frankfurt am Main, Konsul Kehormatan RI untuk Baden-Württemberg dan Saarlang, Garuda Indonesia Frankfurt dan Heidelberger Cement.

Konser Angklung yang digelar di selatan kota Heidelberg ini selain dihadiri oleh Konsul Jenderal RI beserta staf dan Atase Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan KBRI Berlin juga disaksikan oleh sekitar 150 penonton yang terdiri dari masyarakat Indonesia di wilayah Rhein-Neckar, masyarakat setempat, staf pemerintah kota Leimen, staf Konsul Kehormatan RI untuk Baden-Württemberg dan Saarland serta staf dari HeidelbergerCement.

Dalam kata sambutannya, Konsul Jenderal RI menyampaikan ucapan terimakasih kepada semua pihak yang terlibat dalam penyelenggaraan acara tersebut. Beliau juga menjelaskan bahwa musik angklung hanyalah merupakan salah satu dari beragam seni dan budaya yang dimiliki oleh bangsa Indonesia. Hubungan sosial budaya antara Indonesia dan Jerman telah berlangsung sejak berabad-abad silam. Bahkan arsitek dari Kebun Raya Bogor yang dibangun pada tahun 1815, yakni Caspar Georg Carl, berasal dari Jerman. Hubungan sosial budaya antara kedua negara semakin diperkokoh melalui ditandatanganinya Perjanjian Kebudayaan Indonesia-Jerman pada tahun 1988. Diharapkan melalui pertunjukan angklung ini hubungan persahabatan dan kerjasama di antara kedua bangsa dapat terus berkembang dengan lebih baik pada masa yang akan datang.

Pada acara tersebut, KPA SMUN 3 Bandung menampilkan 20 buah lagu. Sambutan yang cukup antusias dan aplaus yang panjang dari penonton direspons oleh kelompok angklung dari Bandung ini dengan menampilkan sebuah lagu extra. Lagu-lagu yang ditampilkan cukup beragam, mulai dari garapan musik klasik seperti Pizzicari-Sylvia, Blue Danube Waltz hingga musik pop seperti Memory from The Cats, Sound of Music dan Besa Me Mucho. Yang cukup menarik adalah bahwa group ini juga mampu mempersembahkan musik rock seperti Bohemiah Rhapsody-nya Queen dengan rhythm dan beat yang cukup bervariasi. Di samping itu juga ditampilkan beberapa folk song baik yang berasal dari Indonesia, seperti Selayaran, Jali-jali, dan Ronggeng serta musik folk song dari Jerman seperti Seideröslein dan dari Italia O Sole Mio. Vokalis pria maupun wanita yang tampil pada beberapa lagu juga menunjukkan kualitas yang sangat prima.

Secara umum, pagelaran angklung ini berjalan dengan baik dan lancar. Pertunjukan dikemas dengan cukup baik dan professional. Hal ini tampak dari pengaturan urut-urutan lagu yang dibawakan sehingga mencapai klimaks pada akhir pertunjukan. Kelompok musik tersebut juga mampu berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi dengan pemirsa sebagaimana dipertunjukkan pada saat membawakan lagu Poco-poco. Puluhan penonton tersedot ke atas panggung dan beberapa pemain turun ke depan panggung untuk "melayani" pemirsa berjoget.

Banyak di antara pengunjung yang mengungkapkan kekagumannya terhadap kelompok musik ini. Disamping bentuk dan suara yang unik dan eksotis dari angklung, cara memainkan alat tersebut yang membutuhkan ketrampilan dan team work juga sangat menarik minat masyarakat setempat.

Sebagaimana halnya gamelan yang sudah terlebih dahulu dikenal masyarakat internasional, paduan suara angklung juga mempunyai kesempatan luas untuk ditampilkan di berbagai event internasional guna merepresentasikan kekayaan seni budaya Indonesia. Untuk itu, permainan angklung sebagaimana yang ditampilkan oleh KPA SMUN 3 Bandung yang cukup kreatif dan inovatif perlu diberikan kesempatan yang lebih luas untuk dapat tampil di berbagai event internasional.
