The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. BAGAIMANAKAH CARA MEMBENTUK ANGKLUNG ORCHESTRA?

Tidak kalah dengan alat musik lainnya, angklung pun dapat dibentuk menjadi sebuah orkestra. Jumlah pemain dalam satu orkestra angklung lazimnya 30-40 orang. Semua pemain membentuk barisan (seperti paduan suara) dan dipimpin oleh seorang conductor.

Angklung diatonis sistem Daeng Soetigna (angklung padaeng) dimainkan oleh banyak pemain. Hal ini disebabkan satu angklung melodi mewakili hanya satu nada saja, padahal ada banyak nada yang perlu dimainkan dalam sebuah lagu.

Para pemain biasanya memegang angklung sesuai tingkat kemampuannya (bisa satu per orang, dua, tiga sampai empat atau kadang-kadang lebih, lihat Tabel-3). Jumlah pemain dalam satu tim angklung minimal 5 orang dan lazimnya 30-40 orang (untuk angklung massal, jumlah pemain mencapai ribuan orang).

Para pemain selanjutnya membentuk barisan (seperti halnya paduan suara) dengan memegang angklung sesuai kemampuannya dan dipimpin oleh seorang conductor / pelatih sehingga tampak seperti orkestra. Barisan tersebut diatur sedemikian rupa agar seluruh pemain dapat melihat gerakan conductor / pelatih dengan jelas.
