Like the other music instruments, we can play angklung in an orchestra. Normally there are 30-40 players in an angklung orchestra. All of them stand in lines (like a choir) and are led by a conductor.

The Daeng Sutigna’s diatonic angklung (angklung padaeng) is played by numerous players. It is because one angklung only plays one tone, whereas there are many notes to be played in one song.

The number of angklung held by a player depends on his (her) capability (one per player, two, three, sometimes four or more, pse see Table-3). The number of player in one team is at least 5, but normally it is 30-40. But in a mass angklung team there can be a thousand players).

The players stand in lines (like a choir), hold their angklungs, and are led by a conductor, just like in an orchestra. The formation is arranged so that all players can see the conductor clearly.
