The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. ANGKLUNG MELODI DAN ACCOMPAGNEMENT, APAKAH PERBEDAAN DAN BAGAIMANA CARA MEMAINKANNYA? Print E-mail
Cara bermain angklung di atas ditujukan untuk angklung melodi. Selain angklung melodi, terdapat angklung accompagnement yang terdiri atas nada akor. Angklung ini dimainkan sesuai akor lagu, dan dapat dimainkan dengan dua cara, yaitu digetarkan dan ditengkep.

Untuk teknik memainkan angklung accompagnement dengan metoda centok (pukul), dapat dilakukan dengan memiankan bersama alat musik bass (bisa bass petik seperti cello/biola dengan ukuran besar) atau bass pukul (dari tabung angklung berukuran sangat besar). Teknik memainkannya mengikuti pola ritmik lagu seperti misalnya poila waltz ( 0 X X) atau mars ( 0X 0X 0X 0X), dengan keterangan 0 untuk memainkan bass dan X untuk memainkan angklung accompagnement.

Sebagai catatan tambahan, umumnya angklung accompagnement septim terdiri atas empat tabung dengan menyertakan nada septime (7)-nya, sehingga jika dibutuhkn untuk memainkan akor mayor murni maka nada septimenya sebaiknya tidak dimainkan (ditengkep) sesuai keperluan lagu.

Angklung co-accompagnement adalah angklung accompagnement dengan susunan nada lebih tinggi satu oktaf. Biasanya angklung ini dimainkan bersahutan accompagnement atau bersamaan dengan angklung accompagnement, atau dimainkan secara khusus untuk jenis musik tertentu seperti keroncong.
