The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. BAGAIMANAKAH TEKNIK MEMAINKAN ALAT MUSIK ANGKLUNG? Print E-mail
Sekurang-kurangnya terdapat dua cara yang paling umum tentang memainkan alat musik angklung, yaitu dengan digatarkan dan dipukul (dibunyikan putus-putus atau centok). Berikut disampaikan beberapa teknik yang dapat dipergunakan untuk bermain angklung dengan baik.


Menggetarkan Angklung

Angklung dibunyikan dengan digetarkan secara panjang sesuai nilai nada yang dimainkan.

Membunyikan Putus-putus, Dipukul (Centok)

Angklung tidak digetarkan, melainkan dipukul ujung tabung dasar (horisontal)-nya oleh telapak tangan kanan untuk menghasilkan centok (seperti suara pukulan). Hal ini berguna untuk memainkan nada-nada pendek seperti tanda musik pizzicato.

Tengkep

Angklung dibunyikan dengan digetarkan secara panjang sesuai nilai nada yang dimainkan, tetapi tidak seperti biasanya tabung kecilnya ditutup oleh salah satu jari tangan kiri sehingga tidak berbunyi (yang berbunyi hanya tabung yng besar saja). Hal ini dimaksudkan supaya dapat dihasilkan nada yang lebih halus sesui keperluan musik yang akan dimainkan (misalkan untuk tanda dinamika piano).

Nyambung

Seperti disampaikan oleh guru angklung diatonis Bapak Daeng Soetigna, maka dianjurkan untuk membunyikan nada angklung secara nyambung. Hal ini dilakukan dengan teknik sebagai berikut: bila ada dua nada yang dimainkan secara berturutan, maka agar terdengar nyambung maka nada yang dibunyikan pertama dibunyikan sedikit lebih panjang dari nilai nadanya, sehingga saat nada kedua mulai dimainkan, nada pertama masih berbunyi sedikit, sehingga alunan nadanya terdengar nyambung dan tidak putus.

Dinamika (keras dan pelan)

Sesuai kebutuhan lagu, angklung dapat dimainkan pelan (piano) atas keras (forte). Disarankan untuk kedua jenis dinamika ini sebaiknya frekuensi getaran angklung per detik tetap sama jumlahnya, sedangkan yang berbeda adalah jarak ayunan angklung oleh tangan kanan yang selanjutnya akan menentukan amplituda getaran dan menyebabkan keras atau pelannya lnada yang dimainkan.
