<<< Welcome to Angklung Web Institute (AWI)! This website is a medium of information exchange about angklung knowledge and competence, especially diatonic angklung in orchestral composition. The Father of Angklung Daeng Sutigna first created the diatonic angklung in 1938. Until now, angklung still has to face many challenges of identity to be acknowledged as one of world’s standard music instruments. One major problem is that there is no firm standard yet in constructing, tuning, forming, playing, and compositing angklung. Another problem is that until today, an angklung music community as a media of education and industrialization of the angklung music hasn’t been founded yet. Through this website we would like to ask you who have a great concern to the development of angklung to pass this piece of information to the world in order to support this developing music instrument. Through this website we would like to convey an angklung-ical activity to an angklung team or community and hopefully someday the industrialization of angklung can be realized. KELUARGA PADUAN ANGKLUNG SMA3 BANDUNG JUARA I FESTIVAL POLANDIA (SMA3 Bandung.net, 27 Agustus 2004)

Selamat! Keluarga Paduan Angklung SMAN3 (KPA3) Bandung telah berhasil mendapatkan 2 penghargaan sekaligus, yaitu gelar juara ke-1 dalam kategori grup musik pada Festival Zakopane XXXVI 2004 di Polandia dan solis (penyanyi solo) Adi Nugroho (alumni) meraih gelar juara ke-2 dalam kategori solis. KPA3 mewakili Indonesia pada festival tahun ini. Festival Zakopane termasuk folklore festival tertua di Eropa. Festival yang diikuti 16 negara ini berlangsung selama bulan Agustus 2004. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa musik angklung sudah diakui oleh masyarakat Eropa. Selama kunjungannya ke beberapa kota di Eropa mulai dari Bremen, Brussel, Paris, Aberdeen (Inggris), Praha (Ceko) dan Polandia, mendapatkan sambutan penonton yang luar biasa. Kegiatan yang diberi nama Expand The Sound of Angklung 2004 ini akan mengadakan konser terakhirnya di Munchen. Sekali lagi, selamat kepada prestasi yang diraih KPA3, meskipun organisasi yang "hanya sekelas" ekstrakurikuler, tapi dalam hal meraih prestasi, harus setinggi-tingginnya. detikcom - Jakarta, Tinta emas telah ditorehkan anak-anak Bandung pada Festival Rakyat di Zakopane, Polandia. Keluarga Paduan Angklung SMAN 3 Bandung (KPA 3) berhasil meraih juara pertama untuk kategori "Group of Musicians". Dalam festival rakyat yang berlangsung sejak 20 Agustus hingga 28 Agustus 2004 ini, KPA 3 berhasil menyisihkan peserta dari 17 negara di dunia. Prestasi mengagumkan juga ditoreh solois, Adi Nugroho, yang meraih medali perak untuk kategori penyanyi solo. Pada setiap penampilannya, grup angklung yang dikonduktori oleh Meliza Miranda Widyasari senantiasa membuat decak kagum penonton dengan lagu-lagu dan tarian yang dibawakannya. Tak heran para penonton selalu meminta "encore" lagu tambahan pada setiap akhir penampilan mereka. Kegemilangan KPA 3 mencapai puncaknya ketika pada malam penutupan festival. Tim juri yang beranggotakan 7 negara menganugerahkan "Audience Prize" kepada KPA 3. Keikutsertaan KPA 3 pada festival rakyat di Polandia ini merupakan salah satu rangkaian muhibah budaya mereka selama 40 hari ke enam negara di Eropa. Tur ini bertajuk "Expand the Sound of Angklung" (ESA '04). Selain Polandia, KPA 3 juga mengikuti dua buah festival rakyat berskala internasional di Aberdeen, United Kingdom dan Cerveny Kostelec, Republik Ceko. Di samping mengikuti festival-festival rakyat, KPA 3 juga mengadakan konser-konser angklung di beberapa kota Eropa seperti, Bremen, Berlin, Brussels, Vert-Le-Petit (Paris), Praha, dan Munich. Namun di balik kesuksesan yang diraih KPA 3 di atas panggung, ternyata kelompok angklung dengan personil belia ini dililit masalah finansial yang cukup serius. Mereka sempat terancam gagal berangkat ke Eropa karena tidak mendapat dana dari sponsor. "Saat grup akan berangkat, kami defisit 22.000,- Euro. Setelah menghutang ke sana-kemari, akhirnya defisit bisa ditekan menjadi 14.000,- euro," ungkap Maulana M. Syuhada sebagai Ketua Rombongan KPA 3 dalam rilis yang diterima detikcom, Selasa (31/8/2004).
