Hello, I haven't received your email with the invitation. Thank you however for that, it would be a biiiiiiig honor for us to play at Pa Daeg's birthday in Bandung. Yes, really, I would love it..., and the group as well. But I have my doubt if we can come. Our group has about 15 members, who would pay the flights, and which of our companies where the members work would give us another vacations...? To play the Angklung in it's hometown, the town of the flowers, my and my wife's personal "pulang", that is a dream... but however, can you resend the mail, I want to show to the group.
Does the trainings still happen at BCW at wednesday and saturday afternoon at 15:00 to 17:00? I could see a news on the home site, but my bahasa indonesia is only selikt, so I didn't understand too much, and Yusi tidur already... See you soon... :-)

Jumat, 22/08/2008 17:27 WIB Angklung Bikin Jatuh Hati Warga Jerman Pengirim: Aksara Kauniyah - detikBandung

Admins Comment: Dear Mr. Stefan Thank you very much for always updating us about the angklung event in German.
I've sent a mail to you two weeks ago, inviting you and your team to celebration 100 years father of angklung, Daeng Soetigna in November 2008. Have you received it? I'm so afraid you didn't receive it.
We've prepared an exclusive concert for the team abroad who confirm to come and perform. We really hope your team, Angklung Nusantara, can perform in the concert to prove the angklung development in German.
We'll wait for your next update. Thank you

Hello, now the summer season for me and my wife in playing Angklung is over, Amgklung Nusantara from Frankfurt finally had three concerts on the Museumsuferfest festival 2008 in Frankfurt; two times on the stage of the Museum für Weltkulturen (museum about world cultures), and one surprising concert on the stage of the indonesian consulate here in Frankfurt. This specially was a great honor for us as normally during the Museumsuferfest of this year the consulate invited Saung Angklung Udjo plus some students from ITB and Dwiki Dharmawan plus some more guests from Indonesia. On this opportunity I want to thank again in the name of Angklung Nusantara to the indonesian consulate for this chance! Photos from our latest concerts, inclusive the senegalese drummer while "O Tan O Batak" as usually can be viewed in our online photo album at

Hello, playing the Angklung with the MKIF group in the church of Mainz Weisenau was again a great pleasure. We played "Gloria", "Dayung Di Arus", "Bawalah Persembahan", "Gendang Syukur", "Kenanga Utusan" (both last in Balinese style) and "Kuikuti Dia" ("I Will Follow Him", you know from Whoopy Goldberg's Sister Act movie). The church was full of peoples and at the end of the worship while playing Kuikuti Dia the peoples came to the front towards of us, clapping, some had tears in their eyes, that was wonderful to see. When we finished the song, everybody was quiet, they looked us, we looked them, this was for minutes. No it was not for minutes, just a few seconds, but it felt like minutes. Then our ochestra leader, Poltak took the word, he asked if playing again. You should have seen the peoples, so happy, clapping, rejoicing, so we played again. After that we showed them some instruments to explain how it works, how to play, let them try to make the noise, they were really interested. I explained some children how the small childrens in Bandung start up playing Angklung, I mean with the symbols for apple, banana, and other fruits symbolizing the instrument they should play, when the teacher shows the fruit at the classroom's table. They all were so happy! After the worship the our group was invited for lunch at one of the families over there, we had a good typical german meal with them in their garden, and we played "Injit-injit semut", "Kole-Kole" and "Pulau Bali" for them as a thank you for the invitation. Suddenly the lady who invited us came out of her house into their garden wearing a traditional javanese dress (Kebaya), what a surprise...! Then even the pastor of the church came to the family to see us again, to thank us for this concert and asking if we can come again.
Then later we meet together with our other group Nusantara in Bad Nauheim, at the international festival. At the stage there was a three-man group from Italy, singing "O sole mio" and other classic italian songs. The place in front of the stage was full of tables, peoples sitting there and enjoying food and drinks from all over the world, unfortunately no indonesian food there, but from Philippines, Taihland, Russia, Turkey, Spain, Kenya, France, and so on. We prepared ourselves, sorting the instruments, put out our stands for the notes, setting up the keyboard, put the the accord angklungs into the stand, and so, then going on stage. We started with "Dayung Palinggam", then the french song "Plaisir d'amour", then lovely "Anggrek Bulan" and finally "O Tano Batak". With Amay we have a phantastic singer with us. While starting playing the second song, the poples stood up from their chairs, comming just in front of the stage, looking us! They were very impressed and Plaisir d'Amour is a piece which is very very good for Angklung, very strong sound, whoa, again the poples were amazed. Even the peoples from the french food stand looked over. After us, some peoples played irish songs, they were very good, but the poples did not feed back as much like before while we played, stying at their tables enjoying again their food. We have some photos, and a video. Later on I will upload some, have to check where I upload them, and when Heinz has converted his videos, we might upload some things to YouTube. Greetings! Stefan
By the way: For Museumsuferfest in Frankfurt/Main, we (Nusantara) have now accepted a third and fourth concert on the festival, we are like "omnipresent" there, the new dates are:
Saturday, 30. August, Museumsuferfest Frankfurt/Main at the museum of the world's cultures. 14:00-15:00 at "Jardin du Monde" "get together" party
Sunday, 31. August same place, same time.
As earlyer mentioned, at 30th August, at 16:30 we also play at "Frankfurter Bühne" at the same festival, and we also play at the stand of the consul of Indonesia in Frankfurt, time not decided yet.
I am already looking forward to play again next week end, in Eschborn and Aschaffenburg.
I've resent the invitation. Have you received? If you dont mind, please send an email to our service and tell us your email address. Just make sure that you still use the address in our customer list.
